Ancient Relics I

Ancient Relics I is an Arachne standard contract in Marathon that tasks Runners with recovering valuable items from across Tau Ceti IV within a single run. Arachne prizes these Valuables as physical artifacts of the colony's history, each one a relic of what came before the chaos that now defines the planet. Crucially, Valuables bearing the Arachne faction icon grant significantly more progress toward contract completion than generic valuables, incentivizing Runners to seek out faction-specific loot sources. All items must be gathered and extracted within a single run; items held from a previous run do not count.

Ancient Relics I rewards players who combine looting efficiency with situational awareness, since Arachne-icon Valuables tend to appear in high-traffic areas alongside significant UESC and Runner competition. The contract pairs naturally with an aggressive play style that involves clearing multiple points of interest in a single run rather than playing passively. Completion earns 100 faction reputation and 500 Credits, and the contract contributes to Arachne progression in combination with the faction's other looting and PvP-focused contracts.
