UESC Assault Trooper

The UESC Assault Trooper is a heavily armored infantry unit deployed by the United Earth Space Council to secure high-value areas and repel intruders on Tau Ceti IV. These enemies function as the heavy infantry backbone of UESC ground forces, combining protective plating with an active shield system that must be dismantled before runners can deal effective damage. The Assault Trooper's layered defenses make them significantly more durable than standard Recruits, and their methodical combat approach means they rarely overcommit, instead holding ground and forcing runners to engage on unfavorable terms.

In combat, UESC Assault Troopers present a two-stage defensive challenge: their base armor must first be depleted through sustained fire, after which their energy shield activates as an additional defensive layer. The most effective approach is to attack from multiple angles simultaneously, using coordinated fire to break through their defenses before they can reposition. Solo runners should use flanking routes and avoid direct frontal engagements, as the combination of armor and shielding can absorb a significant amount of damage. Clearing any surrounding standard UESC units before committing to an Assault Trooper fight is strongly recommended to prevent being flanked during the engagement.
