Firewall is a defensive stat that reduces the duration of electronic status effects: specifically EMP and hack debuffs that temporarily disable your Runner's abilities and systems. Equipping Firewall V1 in your shield slot means you spend less time vulnerable after being hit by tech-based attacks from enemies or rival runners.

As a standard tier implant, Firewall V1 is the most accessible entry in the Firewall line and costs minimal credits to acquire. It suits new runners or budget-focused builds where credits are tight. Runners who spend time in zones with heavy electronic threat presence, such as areas patrolled by UESC commanders, will benefit most from the shortened debuff window this implant provides. For runners who frequently face hack-heavy enemy compositions or PvP opponents using EMP tools, upgrading to Firewall V2 or V3 will offer stronger protection at higher rarity tiers.
