Protector V1

Protector V1 is an enhanced rarity shield implant in Marathon that adds one additional shield slot to your Runner's defenses. More shield slots means more total shield capacity, increasing your survivability and time-to-kill threshold in combat. The tradeoff is -5 Agility and -5 Heat Capacity: Agility controls your movement speed and jump height, while Heat Capacity determines how long you can sprint or slide before overheating. Protector V1 is the entry-level implant in the Protector family, offering a modest shield expansion at a manageable penalty.

This shield implant suits runners who want to lean into tankier, slower-paced playstyles and are willing to sacrifice some mobility for raw staying power. The Agility and Heat Capacity penalties are small at V1, making it one of the more forgiving tradeoff implants in the game.
