Hazard Override Card

The Hazard Override Card is an enhanced-rarity key item used to temporarily disable the toxic gas filling the locked rooms activated during Tox Clear events across Marathon's zones. Tox Clear event rooms are sealed chambers filled with lethal gas, distinguishable by a red laptop terminal positioned near the room's entrance whose screen displays a symbol matching the inactive gas extraction devices inside. Using the Hazard Override Card on the red laptop clears the gas for approximately 30 seconds, giving runners a limited window to rush in and loot the trunks inside before the gas refills the space. The card can be found as a random drop in containers across the zone, including on dead players, and can be vaulted between runs for use in a later session. Unlike door keys that unlock rooms permanently, the Hazard Override Card is a time-limited tool that demands quick decision-making and fast looting to maximize the value of each use.
