OS Debug

The OS Debug is a technical cleanse consumable that removes software-category status effects from the runner, specifically conditions like EMP disruption and Hack that interfere with the runner's electronic systems and abilities. These OS-level debuffs can be particularly crippling because they may disable active abilities, scramble HUD elements, or reduce combat effectiveness at critical moments, making the OS Debug an essential reactive tool for runners who encounter heavy electronic warfare. In addition to the cleanse, it provides a temporary enhancement to the Firewall defensive stat.

The OS Debug is the counterpart to the Mechanic's Kit: while the Mechanic's Kit handles physical debuffs, the OS Debug handles electronic and software-based ones. Runners who rely heavily on active abilities and encounter enemy runners using EMP Grenades or AI enemies with hacking attacks should consider carrying an OS Debug for reactive use. The Advanced OS Reboot provides a stronger version of the same effect for situations where a base cleanse is insufficient.
