Deluxe Key Template

The Deluxe Key Template is a deluxe-rarity crafting item that contains the data storage needed to generate a Deluxe lockbox key when successfully extracted from a zone. To use it, a runner must bring the template into any zone and exfiltrate with it: on extraction, the template is converted into a usable Deluxe Key that can be deployed in a future run to unlock deluxe-tier lockboxes and their higher-quality contents. The Deluxe Key Template becomes available through the CyberAcme faction progression tree at Rank 16, and crafting with it requires meeting material and credit costs that reflect its elevated tier. Deluxe-tier lockboxes contain significantly better loot than standard ones, including blue-quality items and above, making the template a valuable mid-game investment for runners optimizing their gear progression. The template itself is fragile like all keys in Marathon and is permanently lost if the runner dies before exfiltrating.
