The Conquest LMG is a light machine gun chambered in Light Rounds, built for sustained suppressive fire with a ramping rate of fire mechanic. As the weapon fires continuously, its rate of fire accelerates, rewarding runners who commit to holding the trigger rather than pulsing in short bursts. Stability increases further when firing from a crouched position, giving the Conquest a notable defensive niche for holding chokepoints and zone objectives where mobility is less critical than accuracy. With 16 firepower per shot, a 36-round magazine, and 60-meter effective range, it covers mid-range engagements comfortably. A 540 RPM base rate of fire and 49.9% accuracy keep output consistent, and the 1.2x zoom is appropriate for the mid-range role.
Time-to-kill against unshielded targets is 0.89 seconds, improving as the ramping rate of fire kicks in during extended fire sequences. Recoil at 90 is moderate and manageable, especially from crouch, where the stability bonus makes it possible to sustain accurate fire across long bursts. The main drawback is the 6.4-second reload time, one of the longest of any weapon in Marathon, making reload timing a crucial tactical skill. Aim assist of 1.4 is modest, putting the burden of tracking on the runner rather than the system. The 1.4x precision multiplier provides meaningful headshot rewards. The Conquest LMG was introduced in Season 0 Server Slam and is priced at 1,000 credits alongside the Overrun AR and BRRT SMG. It pairs best with an aggressive close-range secondary to compensate for its slow reload and is a strong option for runners who anchor objectives, defend extractions, or suppress enemies during team pushes.
