Amplify is the Vandal's Prime ability in Marathon, functioning as the heat management engine that makes the Vandal's aggressive mobility kit sustainable. When activated, Amplify boosts the Vandal's movement speed and weapon dexterity while significantly reducing the heat generated by movement abilities. This allows the Vandal to chain together the double jump from Microjets and the extended slide from Power Slide repeatedly without overheating, turning the Vandal into a near-constant motion threat.
Amplify has a cooldown of approximately 10 seconds and should be treated as an engagement-opener or a panic tool for breaking out of overheated state mid-fight. Without Amplify active, aggressive Vandal play rapidly accumulates heat, which slows the Runner and reduces effectiveness. With it running, the Vandal can sprint, double jump, and slide through a firefight while maintaining weapon accuracy, making it nearly impossible for stationary enemies to track. Players who plan Amplify usage around sustained engagements rather than saving it for emergencies will get the most output from this ability.
