Unstable Biomass is a primary upgrade material for the NuCaloric and CyberAcme factions, fueling early-tier faction upgrade nodes that improve runner survivability, vault capacity, and heat regeneration. It can also be bartered at the Armory for Patch Kits, making it one of the most practically useful early-game salvage items. Unstable Biomass drops freely across Perimeter and Dire Marsh from open-world spawns, standard containers, and supply caches, and should be prioritized by any runner looking to make fast progress with NuCaloric or CyberAcme upgrades in Marathon.
