Tactical Sprint

Tactical Sprint is a passive trait ability belonging to the Destroyer Runner Shell in Marathon. When the sprint input is double-pressed, the Destroyer enters a faster sprint mode that covers ground more quickly than the standard run speed, enabling rapid repositioning across the battlefield. The trade-off is increased heat generation during this enhanced sprint, so maintaining it for extended periods without overheating requires heat management awareness.

For a Runner Shell designed around getting into close-range fights quickly, Tactical Sprint addresses one of the potential weaknesses of a heavy tank archetype: slow approach speed. It allows the Destroyer to cover the open ground between spawn and engagement faster than opponents expect, and to rotate between positions in the map more aggressively than other front-line Runner Shells. Used in conjunction with Thruster and Riot Barricade, Tactical Sprint makes the Destroyer one of the fastest-approaching defensive Runners in Marathon despite its tank-focused identity.
